Vik is aligned with Oracle's global competitive intelligence team where his current focus is on Oracle's Customer Experience portfolio. He was previously engaged with the Applications Sales Consulting team at Oracle Canada. Prior to joining Oracle he worked in SAP's Solution Engineering organization and participated in various high value transactions. Vik's core competencies include market research and competitive assay.
He is an avid researcher and his academic research has been published in numerous peer reviewed scholarly journals. These include the Journal of Strategic E-Commerce, the Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations, Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective, and the Journal of Information System Security. He also serves on the review boards of the Business Process Management Journal and the Journal of Information Technology Education. He is a member of the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business and the Strategic Management Society. His latest research is centered on the monetization of Internet social networks.
He has also authored practitioner-oriented articles pertaining to breakthrough innovations and strategic initiatives at SAP. His professional writings have appeared in various SAP-centric publications including SAPInfo and SAPTips. While at SAP he was a regular presenter at TechEd, ASUG, SAPPHIRE and other SAP-affiliated seminars, workshops and trade shows.
Vik earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from Villanova University, a master's degree in information technology from Harvard University, where he received the Deanís List Academic Achievement Award, and a master's degree in business administration with distinction from the University of London.
In his spare time he enjoys running, golfing, swimming and playing the saxophone.
